A Japanese Katana sword with scabbard. Taken from a Jap Lieut. Colonel by Jack Sue and Don Harlem during Operation Agas with Major Gort Chester behind Japanese lines in British north Borneo 1945. A Japanese Katana sword with scabbard. This sword was taken from a Jap Captain of the dreaded Kempei Tei following a raid upon a 20 man Jap garrison at Dampirit, on the Kudat peninsula of British north Borneo 1945. This item along with others including Lot: 8 tells a gruesome story. Note: This sword was used for beheadings, full details in Jack's book Blood on Borneo plus a custom made jarrah case total. A Japanese Katana sword with scabbard. This sword was taken from a 20,000 ton Jap crude oil tanker that had been deliberately beached following a torpedo and aerial attack. Jack and his team of native guerrilla fighters arrived shortly after to inspect and clean up residual enemy if necessary. One of Jack Sue's most treasured souvenirs from Borneo He removed it from a 20,000 ton Japanese crude oil tanker on the coastline of the Kudat peninsula after his party destroyed a small boatload of Japanese military. A collection of Japanese Occupation money an assortment of Japanese occupation money taken from the safe at Trusan that was blown apart by Jack and guerrilla fighters in Operation Agas. A Barong Bajau Parang: tribal sword with sheath. This tribal sword originates from tribal areas near Jambongan and was used in the beheading of some Japanese soldiers details Chap. 16 of Jack Sue's book blood on Borneo both Jack and Lt Don Harlem enjoyed friendly support from native tribes, who all had intense hatred for the Japanese note: Native guerrillas gave this to Jack on farewell journey back to Australia. An Ilang Iban Parang: tribal sword with sheath Many Japanese troops fell victim to deadly darts from native blowpipes. They were almost always be-headed by parangs such as this type. The handle is carved from deer horn and the hair symbolises beheading. Length 76 cm
