A Civilian mounted Japanese of the Koto (old sword) period with scabbard the scabbard being well preserved having original finish. Length 102.5 cm. Note: the sword evidenced by its graceful slender shape, could possibly date late 1300's to early 1400's It's characteristics suggest that it could possibly be a blade from the famous Rai school Unfortunately, the signature has been lost-like most of the blades of this period, through shortening.
