This table represents one of the more complex and free flowing of the Seuffert 'standard patterns', the Fern and Clematis design, similar to a table presented to Countess Aberdeen in 1887, this top is likely to comprise 5,824 pieces of timber, each one laid with such precision that the pattern flows effortlessly. The practice of inlaying marquetry into detailed parquetry background patterns is an endearing feature of this top.… ***
*** A Superb Anton Seuffert Card Table of Nz timbers. This card table from Anton Seuffert's workshop is a very fine, complete example with original base of this type by Nz premier colonial cabinetmaker. Card tables were a Seuffert speciality and his 1875 raffle advertisement in the Auckland Herald valued card tables of this design at 10 pounds. Fifteen years later inflation raised the price to 11 pounds.… ***
*** A New Zealand Timbers Card Table by Anton Seuffert This card table from Anton Seuffert's workshop is a fine example of the type by NZ's premier colonial cabinetmaker. Card tables were a Seuffert speciality and his 1875 advertisements in the Auckland Herald quoted these tables at 10 pounds. Fifteen years later inflation raised the price to 11 pounds. While too small for card games, Seuffert probably named them for their use as business or postal cards depositories.… ***
*** An Height B. Dobbie Nz Native Timber Fern Specimen Cabinet made in Whangarei c.1880. This very important historical cabinet was constructed and carved by Height B. Dobbie (b.1852 England, arrived in Nz after 1875 and died 1940). Herbert Dobbie was an engineer, traveller, writer, botanist & expert wood carver. He travelled extensively on his penny farthing bicycle and on foot collecting ferns as he went in order to collate the first book on New Zealand ferns in 1880.… ***
*** Queen Anne Walnut Bureau Cabinet with 2 candle holder slides. The blind doors enclose a fully fitted interior. Behind the drop front are concave drawers and a secret sliding panel. The bureau and drawers mostly original, however, the bun feet may have been replaced. Height 193.5 cm Width 96.5 cm Depth 63cm (lower part) ***
*** 112 A Superb 'Winks and Hall' New Zealand Native Timber Work Table. The central silver top plaque is inscribed 'Presented to Miss Napier/by the inhabitants of Karangahake in recognition and appreciation of her good work in connection with the Sunday School Oct. 1902'. The top is over three drawers and large slide out receptacle, carved and turned kauri supports. Geometric decoration to top. Height 77 cm. Width 62 cm. Depth 41 cm ***

*** A Beautiful Arts and Crafts Period Card Table by William Seuffert (1858-1943). This table is a unique piece and appears to be one of William Seuffert's later creations. It incorporates patterns used in earlier work by both William and his father, Anton. The simplification of the overall table design and squaring of the circular edging indicate a conscious development towards the modernisation of the table genre.… ***
*** A Top Quality George I Walnut Kneehole Desk with brushing slide (dressing kneehole). An unusual and rare feature is that the centre cupboard can be pulled forward to come flush with the drawers. The top edges have no "overhang", it has a flush or "caddy top" which makes the piece of furniture appear smaller. Drawers are lined in oak, the top is quartered with herringbone inlay around the drawers. Good rich dark honey colour richness overall. H.… ***

*** Very Rare Pair of 19th century French Ivory Mirrors made in the town of Dieppe in the Napoleonic style, c. 1820 - 1830. (Some small pieces of ivory missing on the side). In the early 19th century much ivory was imported from the French Territories in Africa to Dieppe where there was a thriving industry making ivory brush handles, small items etc. Very occasionally and on a "commission basis" a wealthy client would order a major work with approx.… ***

*** A superb Winks & Hall NZ timbers wine table C1880. Original Shortland St Auckland label underneath, the top is of inlaid geometric starburst decoration, similar to Anton Seuffert’s designs, indicating that both firms shared ideas and skills, the base appears to be uniquely Winks & Hall with three reeded columns with turned finials on a circular platform base with shaped apron on splayed legs.
