*** Clarke Chest c.1890 Made by J Clarke in Ponsonby this useful and attractive chest is clearly labeled with its maker and location of manufacture. An original label on a piece of New Zealand furniture is very rare, adding to the historical importance of the piece. The drawer configuration of this chest differs from the more common scotch chest pattern with a fourth long drawer to the base and a long drawer to the top. This handsome chest is made from kauri with mottled kauri facings.… ***
