Dense dark brown wood, shallow v-shaped inner hull, sides and both ends have been decorated with haehae and pakati patterning in a zigzag chevron fashion and outline of a shark repeated on both sides of hull at both stern and prow ends. Png New Ireland L'iniet (or Marawot) Magnificent chalk figure from New Ireland, very few of which remain today. Kuiap limestone chalk figures were commissioned from carvers in the Rossell Mountains. A carving was brought back secretly to the ritual house and kept with other figurines.
