Description:
Shotgun, Charles Osborne, 20 gauge, side by side Damascus barrelled sporting gun. Box lock non ejector action, black powder proof only, serial no. 17867 stamped on the 30' barrels. The action nicely scroll foliage engraved overall. The straight hand nicely figured stock 14 1/2 inch at hand has been refinished with some loss of chequering at wrist and fore-end, the barrels rebrowned at some time past. Raised rib engraved 'Chas Osborne & Co., 7 Whitehall Place, London'. The gun contained in a well relined leather gun case with facsimile maker's label in lid, two leather case straps, a three piece ebony cleaning rod and tip and a brassed capped glass oil bottle. A part packet of 20 gauge Eley Nobel smokeless cartridges are present in the case and will be made available to the purchaser. Overall, an attractively presented gun manufactured around the turn of the 19th century .
