A rare and important marble mantle clock with German 8 day movement made in 1936, the carved case representative of a fighter plane engine and adorned with the motif 'Tempus Fugit' (time passes) 1940 and was hand worked by David Alexander, a Wellington stonemason for the Centennial Exhibition. Initialled and dated underneath. Height 23 cm
