Murata Tanryow (1873-1940) ink painted silhouette figure scroll, the robbed figure depicted from behind. 120 x 30.5 cm. Two black character marks and red ink seal mark to base of work. The scroll with bone ends. Note: With typed biographical details on Fuji-Torii Company, Ltd. Provenance: Ex. Collection of Dr David (Auckland) & M Stephens based in Singapore c1956 - 1975. A passionate & knowledgeable collector of jade, porcelain, Chinese items. Member of the South East Asian Ceramic Society.
