An 18th century iron cannon-ball found in rocks near Seatoun, Wellington. Tested by Gns Science as late 18th century and stated ‘Given these findings and the location of its discovery, it is not possible for us to accept or reject the hypothesis that this cannon-ball came from one of Captain Cook’s ships-Resolution or Endeavour - during their visits to Wellington’ as strongly suggested by the gentleman who found this cannon-ball.
