An American coin silver three-piece tea service, by Edward Rockwell and John Wolfe Forbes. Rounded oblong shape raised on ball feet, each piece decorated with a floral frieze and with gadroon rim and foot ring. Rockwell was an active silversmith, based in New York City, from circa 1803 - 1846; Forbes similarly worked in New York in the early 19th century. The pot stamped Rockwell twice, the sugar box and milk jug stamped Length W. Forbes twice and with his star/anchor marks. 1420gm. Teapot Height 19.5 cm.
