Private collection, Perth attributed to Alexander Samuel Robinson (Alec) lambert, (1899 and 1994) apprenticed to Donovan and Overland in 1913, the next year he assisted in making the 1914 Perth cup, which was commissioned by the firm Caris Bros.… ***

Burnley Melbourne, with inner label detailing some of the timbers used, including Queensland maple, silky oak, mountain ash, jarrah and swan bone. The top panel of the box is decorated with painted, veneers and bone inlay depicting two swans in a pond. The front of the box is decorated with inlay scroll, veneers of bone and ebony depicting a star with a SW monogram.… ***

The trophy is constructed of silver plated metal with, mounted emu egg, with figural athlete runner finial, with ferns, grapes, and vine leaves decoration, mounted on turned ebonised wooden base, total height 42 cm. Note: Alfred Shrapnell Bailes is listed as the Mayor, of Bendigo, Victoria, from 1883 - 1884 ***
