*** Pair of Cloisonne Buddhistic Lions, The fine large cast bronze and cloisonné lions are predominantly turquoise with exposed metal highlights. The bronze manes with finely cast and chased tight curls. Each has a brocaded ribbon collar and trappings with a suspended bell at front. The female has her left foot placed on her cub, the male's foot on a brocaded ribbon ball. Seated on a yellow cloisonné 'carpet' draped over the turquoise and brocaded rectangular base with key fret border.… ***

The top with three dragons in a swirling sea, the side panels with pavilions in landscape, one with a distant Fuji. The door with birds in a nest and a pavilion verso. The rear panel with a peacock. The back and sides interior décor of a large central jade peach on stand surrounded with bat and fruit, castanet and dragon jui-I and ink stone with seals on hatched ground. Frame of lighter elm wood, shallow carved with embossed connecting trellis and dragons.… ***

*** An extraordinary Pair of Profusely Carved 19th Century Japanese Beds, probably made for export and exhibited at an International Art Fair during the Meiji Period (1868-1912). The structures are elaborately carved with mythical creatures emerging from beds of iris. The end panels are carved with iris in deep relief. The back ground with pin punched texture, similar to silver working. The side rails are also deeply carved with flowing iris and leaves. The wood is coated with a rich chocolate brown lacquer.… ***

Top as li raiseable on brass latches, deeply carved with large medallion housing jade, embossed vertical dragon among clouds and the flaming pearl. Corners filled with jade phoenixes. Doors with medallion divided in two with two embossed, jade confronting dragons in clouds, surrounded by shallow carving of bat and clouds and two brass latches (look beautifully mixed with flora).… ***
*** A Large Spectacular Cloisonne Censer, With domed cover in cloisonné, gilt fretwork inlaid external jades and coral. The sides of high lid pierced carved with dragons, inlaid jade medallions and a monster half bird and half man with wings and horns. The ridges surmounted by young gilt dragons to a top knob of the Wheel of Life. The base with wide rim to rectangle, with central cartouch of two dragons chasing flaming pearl, surrounded by coral beads, in turn more gilded décor on sides.… ***
*** Large Pair of Double Gourd Shaped Display Stands, In elm wood on a vertical base protruding from larger platform balustraded with heavy bracket support. Stand divided into nine irregular spaces to display artifacts, trimmed both sides with border pattern covered in scrolled tendril pattern, carved with numerous double gourds on scrolled vine. Base carved with large leaves followed by even larger flowers, wide sides carved with more vine and double gourd cartouches. Period 20th century (Ming Kuo) 222 x 89 cm ***

*** A Rare Hongmu and Huali Large Decorative Screen, Dramatic cloisonné panel (rare in this size) in strong colours depicting a lakeside pavilion on a cloudy day with cranes flying overhead with a poem or commendation top left. The pavilion by a bridge and rocky outcrops overlooks the lake to a further pavilion. The elaborately carved wood frame and base has peaches (wisdom) and pomegranate fruit (many sons) amongst scroll work and archaic symbols. Framed size of panel: Height 130 cm Width 100 cm ***
*** A rare and exceptionally fine Satsuma beaker by Sozan, decorated with a continuous scene of ducks in a stream and on the bank the interior with wisteria hanging down from the gilt rim the rest of the interior plain. All executed in minute details. Signed on the base in a gilt gourd shaped cartouche. Height 8 cm diameter 7.5 cm ***
