Description:
An important tall bulbous vase painted by Wan Xiliang (b.1922), master porcelain painter from the city of Jingdezhen, the vase is painted with a scene from the story of Tao Yuan San Jie Yi, the painted scene is in a showy garden with a flowering peach. A group of three men Liu Bei in orange, behind him Guan-Yu and next to him Zang Fei, they are greeting the figure in blue, the work is signed and sealed and inscribed, not dated. Painted in fencai enamels. Factory mark Cai Fu Ji Zao Ref 'Brush and clay', Simon Kwan 1990 for illustrations of signature and inscriptions by Wang Xiliang. Ref 'Innovations and Creations ยน a Retrospective of 20th century porcelain' from Jingdezhen 2001. Height 63 cm
