*** Important and beautiful kiwi feather cloak (Kahu kiwi). Note: Rangi Te Kanawa (Te Papa conservator) described it as the best cloak in existence and significantly better than the Maori Queens, the wefting is very fine and was unquestionably made by a very skilled group of Maori cloak makers ***
*** An Outstanding & Historically Important Kumete Food Bowl. A highly important Maori Kumete Food Bowl by Patoromu Tamatea, c. 1860s. This bowl has been in a bank vault for 110 years and has never been sighted by the public. Provenance - Given to Robert Graham M.P., formerly the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland in 1878 by the Chiefs of the Arawa Tribe in acknowledgement of settling peace between the waring Hapus of the Arawa Tribe. Graham spoke fluent Maori.… ***
*** 'The Lucky Maori Cloak' (Mid 19th C) A superb Maori Kiwi feather cloak returned to NZ from Europe. Dark brown Kiwi feathers and border across the top of Kaka bird feathers (rusty red colour). Some Kiwi and Kaka feathers missing but overall very good condition. The European vendor said this artefact sustained, over a period of years, several lucky escapes.… ***
*** Very Rare 17th/Early 18th century Maori Greenstone Mere Beautiful dark green colour with tiny black speckles. (Ancient thong hole and thick through the middle). Returned to NZ from England in 1977. Purchased by Melville Gray at Sotheby's Sale London July 1936. Originally taken to UK by F.R. Chester - Master of the 58th Regiment in the mid 19th century Length 29.5 cm W. 10 cm ***
*** A Rare and Important 18th century Pre-European Maori Wooden Tekoteko Gable Ornament. Stone carved, with a Tiki face at the bottom, one finger is missing to the mouth and old wooden grain damage left hand side with some traces of a creamy waxy residue. Length 108 cm ***
*** Rare pre-European early 18th century Maori steering paddle (Hoe Urunga). Tiki carved on the blade with a ridge running down the centre ending in a raised design, the point of the blade is slightly thickened. A well worn curious figure at very end of shaft. From the Northland region. Ref; plate 63, no. 55, ‘The Oldman Collection of Maori artefacts'. Length 195 cm. ***
*** The 'Kronfeld mere' - rare & magnificent 18th century greenstone mere. History: Known as the Kronfeld mere (also, the 'P&O mere') after the first Collectors, Dr. And Mrs M. Kronfeld, who presented it to the NZ Shipping Company Ltd. Dr Kronfeld was the Port Health Officer in Wellington, which meant frequent contact with P&O crew and staff. This mere was displayed in a solid box especially made by the ships carpenter and placed under the board room clock on the R.M.S.… ***
*** A superb and important Maori Wooden Panel (Pare), contact period 19th century, depicting three figures with tongues protruding and arms raised. Haliotis serrated shell inlaid eyes and medallions. South Sea tattoo decoration with mania figure at bottom and bird-like heads at each end. Note: Has been repaired over the years, visible on rear. Height 49 cm, Length 135 cm ***
*** 18th century stone carved whakawae (door jamb that holds up the carved lintel from a door porch). Three tiki figures are carved with paua shell eyes, one male and two female. Has a brown addressed envelope that comes with it. Length 110 cm. Width 12 cm. Webster Collection no. 905. ***

*** Rare 18th century Maori wooden container and lid (Wakahuia box), 'Contact period'. Designed to be suspended from the rafters and treasures kept inside. Some traces of distress in the carving underneath. Two tiki figures (one each end). Length 44.4 cm ***
*** Important 18th century Pre-European Maori Dark Greenstone Mere, of great age and patina. Top butt worn, good patina and old hour glass hole, stone carved. Length 36.5 cm ***
*** Late Pre-European 18th century Maori Wooden Short Club (Wahaika). Carved human figure (Marakihau) on incurve and a carved head to the butt. Round suspension hole, excellent patina to handle. Length 42 cm ***
*** 'The Parry Lintel'. The superb 18th century rare and important Lintel for a food store/window. Height 23 cm, length 86 cm. The lintel also comes with the book 'Parry of the Arctic, the life story of Admiral Sir William Edward Parry 1790-1855' by Ann Parry, 1963 ***
