A French lady's mahogany fire screen/ desk of Dame Nellie Melba interest, circa 1800 having a pierced ormolu gallery to the top, the fall front opening to reveal two small drawers and a leather lined writing surface, behind which there is a tapestry upholstered retractable screen, supported on four square form legs mounted with ormolu collars, supported on a platform base on castors, bearing in pencil to the interior of the drawer in Dame Nellie Melba's hand ' To dear Beverley from Nellie Melba 1925 ' Further bearing moving label for ' B.
