Pale blue ownership stamp of a parliamentary library on titlepage, first and last pages of the text, and on the blank versos of the maps. No other markings internal or external. Uncommon. Von Moltke, (1800-1891) had been requested by Sultan Mahmoud to remodel the Turkish army, and served in the campaigns described in this book; Labaume, Eugene. A Circumstantial narrative of the campaign in Russia, embellished with plans..containing a faithful description of the affecting and interesting scenes, of which the author was an eye-witness. second edition, considerably improved.
