A celadon jade vase and cover Qing dynasty, 19th century of rounded rectangular section, the upright body surmounted by a short waisted neck set with double angular scroll handles, carved in high and pierced relief with a dragon climbing up the side in pursuit of a flaming pearl and a phoenix holding a frond of lingzhi fungus, and with bats in flight among clouds, all supported on a wave splashed rockwork base, the stepped cover surmounted by a ribbed knop, the pale greenish stone with some russet suffusions (2) 24.7 cm high
