Cheng Shifa (1921 - 2007), Girl and Rooster Ink on paper, framed and glazed Inscribed and signed Cheng Shifa, with three seals of the artist Dated 1982 79.5 cm x 49 cm. Provenance: Private collection NSW, purchased in an exhibition held by a regional gallery in Newcastle in the 1980s. The gallery previously purchased the painting from the Shanghai Arts and Crafts Trade Fair at 1000 Yan'an Road, Shanghai (later known as Shanghai Arts and Crafts Trading Corporation, the 'STC') in the early to mid 1980s. It also worked very closely with the STC in the capacity of artist exchange and business development, and was introduced to Cheng Shifa through their association with the organisation
