Eureka Stockade by Carboni Raffaello first edition published one year after the rebellion. This rare book contains the only know full account of the unrest at Ballarat in December 1854. Rebound in leather with gilt lettering. This copy purportedly was given by Raffaello himself to Anastasia Hayes & is accompanied by her Roman Missal inscribed 'Anastasia Hayes, Ballarat February 25th 1862'. Hayes was very closely associated with Peter Lalor & was present during the amputation of the rebellion leaders arm. She was also credited with helping to sew the original flag that flew over the stockade on the 3rd of December 1854. Extremely Rare
