A pair of carved ivory figures of phoenix, 19th/20th century each bird intricately carved, perched on a pierced rockwork base with a free standing flowering peony tree growing to the side, its crested head turned backwards holding a peony sprig in its beak, the plumage well defined with long tail feathers extending down to the rockwork base, wood stands (4) 37.5 cm
