Description:
A quantity of 31 mostly silver souvenir spoons. Early 20th century. Mostly sterling silver, 800 silver, enamel sterling, silver and a couple of plated spoons. American, European and some Australian examples. Total weight 368grams. Provenance: Many of these spoons were collected by a family member 'Uncle Harrie', while travelling, abroad as souvenirs and were returned to his family, after his death. His journeys included visiting San Francisco April 1906, experiencing the devastating, earthquake. Harrie was also engineer and worked on the Panama Canal construction and also gold mining in Alaska when war broke out, he joined the British, army, and never returned, dying during World War I
