A carved and lacquered ivory box and cover by Tohekido Yoshikazu, Meiji period of rectangular form, the cover intricately carved in pierced relief with numerous quail among trailing stems of wheat ears, within a key-fret border, the sides and base simulating woven cane and supported on corner quail and wheat feet, the interior decorated in gold and coloured lacquer with peony sprays on the nashiji ground, signed on a mother of pearl plaque on the cover Tohekido Yoshikazu (2), 20 cm long: 12 cm high
