An Australian silver goblet, by William Edwards, Melbourne, circa 1870, raised on a shaped base with embossed and chased flowerheads and leaves, plain stem issuing leaves, the waisted body engraved 'Ballarat Agricultural Society Trial By Stripping Machines, 1st Prize Awarded to Malcolm McCallum Esq. Burrumbeel' and a scene of a farmer ploughing a field with two horses and a homestead in the background, 19 cm high, 270 gms (8.7 oz). Provenance: Alan Landis, 22 Nov 1984
