A Satsuma earthenware censer and cover by Kintozan, Meiji period, with rounded sides supported on tripod feet, painted in colours and gilding with three pairs of long tailed birds confronted on chrysanthemum sprays between formal borders around the incurved mouth and the base, the pierced cover with matching decoration and chrysanthemum knop, the base inscribed Teikoku bijutsu, Satsumayaki, Kintozan sei (2) 14.
