Fritz Piguet & Bachmann,L. Bachmann Succ. An 18ct yellow gold half hunter repeating pocketwatch, jewelled keyless chronograph movement. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer scale, subsidiary seconds at 6 o'clock, blued spade hands. Gold curvette signed Fritz Piguet & Bachmann, Geneve, L. Bachmann Succ.r and engraved 'No. 12066 Chronometre-Echappement a Ancre-Balancier Compense-Spiral Breguet, Repitition, Heures, Quarts, Minutes, Chronographe, 34 Rubis'. Plain polished case, blue enamel chapter ring, slide for repeating mechanism and chronograph push button. Case and movement signed. 53 mm. Fritz Piguet & Bachmann were a Geneva based Company who specialized in superbly adjusted watches and supplied ebauches to most of the major watchmakers during the middle of the 19th century, including Patek Philippe. Piguet & Bachman won the first prize in the 1888 Geneva Observatory Timing Contest, they also won a silver medal in the 1878 Paris Universal Exhibition and a gold medal in Melbourne in 1881. They were the top contenders among those specializing in complicated watches. The Company was taken over by Maison M. Bader in 1913.
