A magnificent Maori carved greenstone large mere of exceptionally fine proportions, the traditional long spatulate blade with intact fine edge tapering to a near parallel sided grip of oval section, the rounded butt with seven sharp grooves, hourglass tapered suspension hole, darker green towards the butt, lightning towards the blade end.
