A 'blance-de-chine' Dehua figure of hooded Damo (Bodhidharma), 17th / 18th century, standing supported on a reed floating above the base of swirling waves, one bare foot protruding from beneath the hem of his long flowing robes with skirt tied at the waist, the shawl draped over his head, leaving his chest bare and concealing his arms beneath the heavy folds, his bearded head turned to the side, his gaze lowered in fixed attention from beneath his tightly curled furrowed brows, 34 cm high
