A Royal Doulton Rembrandt Ware vase decorated in typical sienna tones, with a portrait of a 17th century gentleman, an encircling frieze at the shoulder inscribed with “Beauty is Truth, Truth Beauty”, from the Keats poem “Ode on a Grecian Urn”. Probably a design by Walter Nunns. Factory mark under base and incised Anthony van Dyke, impressed number 7423. Professional restoration at rim. Height 33 cm
