A fine silver gilt mounted emu egg by William Edwards, Melbourne, circa 1870, the lobed oval base relief decorated with a goanna, rocky landscape, the standard modelled as a pair of entwined tree ferns supporting the egg on the fern fronds, with an emu finial, hallmarked kangaroo, W. E., emu, together with a glass dome and ebonised circular stand 23.5 cm high
