A large Victorian silver plated oval banquet tray, the gallery cast with a pennant border of leaves above an open frame incorporating acanthus scrolls and lion heads, two rod handles supported from acanthus capped scrolls issue from the sides, the centre engraved with a complex broad border of entwined floral scrolls framing a crest; a wolf’s head erased, pierced by a broken spear (probably the crest of Henry Thomas Maire Silver top of Northumberland). The twin tails of four mermen form feet that support the tray. 69 x 49 cm
