A quality Satsuma earthenware vase painted by Kinkozan, squat baluster shape with a tall trumpet neck, painted in two panels, one depicting a geisha sewing and a young girl practicing calligraphy, the other with a wooded landscape with love birds perched in a bough, the neck decorated with gilded chrysanthemums on a cobalt ground. Signed in gilt under the base and with an impressed mark. Height 23 cm
