An Australian cedar circular pedestal breakfast table, Joseph Sly, circa 1840, with rope carved edge, triform platform and lion paw feet on casters, stamped to underside twice J. Sly. Diameter 107 cm. Height 71 cm. Provenance: William Ellenden Auctions, Wentworth Avenue, Sydney 22March 1991. Reputedly the table came to the vendors family (Mrs Grant Campbell) by descent from her aunt, Elsie Dora Fairfax, nee cape born 17/1/1874.
