Description:
William 'Buffalo Bill' Cody's vest from the Australian tour of his famous Wild West Show in 1903, framed in a perspex display case together with a penny shot out of the hand of a volunteer during his sharp shooting act. Barry Spring's grandfather went to Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show during its Australian tour in 1903. He volunteered to let 'Buffalo Bill' shoot a penny out of his hand. Afterwards Buffalo Bill gave him the vest and the coin because he had been 'The Only One Game Enough to Put Up Your Hand'. The vest and penny toured Australian museums and art galleries as part of the 'Circus!' exhibition from March 1998 to May 2000
