World War I small personal photo album of an unidentified member of the New Zealand Mounted Rifles, with 24 pages and forty eight images. The quality of the images and the subject matter suggests this may be the album of an officer. The images are on the whole unpublished with the exception of one, published in the 2007 book 'Devils on Horses, the History of the New Zealand Mounted Rifles in Palestine' by Lt. Col Terry Kinloch. This particular image is one of three in the album relating to the little known massacre at Surafend on 9-10 December 1918.
