A massive Japanese Imari porcelain vase, late 19th century, cylindrical with square shoulders flaring out at the mouth and decorated in underglaze blue and red iron-oxide and gilt over a clear glaze with shaped panels of floral stands and pomegranates surrounded by vines and peonies, the interior of the mouth painted with peonies and vines and treasure scrolls, foot painted with a geometric band. Height 66 cm
