A Japanese ni-mai do suit of armour, late 19th century, the suit lacquered in two shades of brown and finished in an ishime texture in the surface and comprising; a six-plate suji kabuto in the Goshozan stayle fitted with a three-stage copper tehen kanamono, the four-lame solid shikoro laced in white odoshi lacing, the front of the hlemet fitted with a gold-lacquer m'date of the sanskrit character representing the diety Fudo Myo-o, associated lacquered-iron face mask applied with a bushy moustache and fitted with a four-lame solid-plate yodarekake laced in blue; the curiass a two-plate hinged Hotoke do applied with a scalloped plate applied to the lower section, decorative ring and floret boss applied to the front right of the cuirass lacquered silver, the cuirass fitted with six lames of chain mail and iron plate tassets sewn on fabric resist-dyed with scrolling vines; sleeves chail mail sewn on fabric with iron plates on the gauntlets and elbows; kawara haidate of lacquered-leather plates; one armour box; armour stand
