Of Loyal Christchurch Volunteer interest: A George III silver-gilt two-handled tea tray, by Robert Sharp, London 1792, engraved with a coat of arms within drapery cartouche and inscription 'A Respectful Token of Esteem for private Worth as well as of Gratitude for Public Conduct Presented by the officers of the Loyal Christchurch Volunteers to Their Lieut. Coll. Commt. Edmund Walcott and the Dissolution of the Corps with the Thanks of Their King & country 1802' within a band of chased anthemion and engraved with the names, 'J. Lyons, A. Quarttey, J. Willis, J. Steat, J. Spicer, R W Steat and J. Elliot', within an everted stiff leaf rim and leaf capped scroll handles raised on ball and acanthus leaf feet. Length 60 cm. Diameter 38 cm, weight 95oz, weight 2980gms.
