Ambassadorial Berlin coach or stage coach, Barker, chandos street, London, circa 1850, this spectacular Berlin coach or stage coach was built by the respected firm of Barker & Company in London in about 1850. It is thought to have been a British Ambassadorial coach, used to carry foreign ambassadors to meet with the Head of State. A fleet of similar town coaches was kept by the Royal Mews in London, and by numerous other European Royal households, for this purpose, the Berlin design being relatively light, and suitable for fast driving with two or four horses.
