A gilt lacquered wood cabinet Qing dynasty, 19th century, of rectangular form, the front with a horizontal frieze of three rectangular panels gilt with landscapes below four removable vertical panels, each panel carved in pierced and high relief and painted, with scenes of maidens and dignitaries and boy attendants variously occupied in garden settings, highlighted in gilding and picked out in coloured lacquer, the central two panels forming doors with 'baitong' escutcheons and pierced pulls, the doors opening to reveal a frieze of four drawers with baitong pulls below two shelves, the whole supported on corner legs joined at the front with pierced angular scrolls; 128.
