Attributed To Emily Thomas Working Circa 1880's 'Who Is It?' signed Emil Thomas (lower right) bears Melbourne colourman's label on reverse on stretcher, inscribed Miss Thomas oil on canvas painted circa 1888. Provenance: Seward family, Melbourne By descent to Mrs J Isakssen, Melbourne By descent to Gabrielle Jane Isakssen Private collection, Melbourne; purchased from the above Catalogue Note Emily Thomas was enrolled in the Painting and Drawing Schools of the National Gallery of Victoria for five years, between 1884 and 1888. Interestingly, a Miss M. Quinn was also a student at the Gallery School during the same period (1887-1888)
