An ivory mid-19th century shibayama Manju netsuke. A very fine and rare shibayama inlaid manju netsuke, the details of a bird on an elaborate perch are in coral, shell, gilded horn and hardstones. Carved shell cord hole. Signature shell tablet missing but the high quality strongly indicates the shibayama attribution. Old English collection.diameter 3.2 cm
