A Fine and Rare Japanese Bronze Figure Gong. Edo/Meiji Period C.1860. The semi-clad Nio (temple guardian) stands with muscular torso holding his left arm aloft and supporting the gong. Well cast details and engraved plinth with four feet. He holds the striker in his right hand. Signed around the gong rim. Height 59 cm
