Early 19th century good quality wooden bird Snare (Mutu) given to George Sidwell on his 7th birthday, 1908 by the local chief in Southern Hawkes Bay, the Sidwell family were early pioneers into Southern Hawkes Bay. A Sidwell daughter (nee Lambert) was the first white female born in Southern Hawkes Bay (1859). Length 24 cm. Width 24 cm
