Very fine Japanese Satsuma jar and cover, of squat globular form with a waisted neck, the cover set with circular finial, above four panels each containing figures in an outdoor village setting, surrounded by geometric and floral motifs, in tones of orange, green, blue and black on a pale ground accented with gilt, standing on a raised circular foot, height 5.5 cm
