George II ebonised verge bracket clock by John Monkhouse of London, with a plain inverted bell top case, a carry handle, rear viewing glazed back door, a signed brass break arch dial, a mock pendulum, fine gilt spandrels, engraved and filled Roman numerals, a silvered chapter ring, strike/silent and rise 'N fall dials, early serpentine influenced blued steel hands a pull cord repeat, a well made five pillar double fusee movement, profuse floral engravings to the back plate, the listed maker's name 'John Monkhouse London' centrally engraved, intact pivoted verge escapement, separate alarm train, double hammer to the strike bell, a silvered alarm disc (wound through the chapter ring at 1) and a pull cord hour repeat on single bell
