An Australian sterling silver salver by William Edwards, Melbourne, circa 1870, maker's mark W.E between emu and kangaroo marks, circular, the dished centre engraved with fruiting grape, the cast pierced border of fruiting grape vine encircling wolves, Bacchus masks, and classical vases and cornucopia within an edge of imbricated leaves and berries, on three feet conforming with the border, 3.5 cm high, 25 cm diameter, 590g
