Mid 19th century medicine chest, in mahogany, of deep rectangular form, with lifting lid and front section that folds down to give better access, spaces for bottles surround the section at the back that has nesting compartments, the top section is red plush lined and holds scales and weights, beneath a deeper section to squat bottles, two lidded jars, a glass and a glass mortar and pestle, space beneath for papers, 14.5 x 27 x 15 cm.
