An old African Kongo nkisi (fetish), modelled as a Janus headed dog, the torso studded with steel blades surrounding a section to its back filled with fetish material and wrapped with cane. Some small borer holes, length 37 cm. Provenance: collection of John F. Perry (1943-2021), thence to our vendor/collector who has exhibited this piece at the little dog gallery, Devonport, c.2015.
