George II sterling silver nutmeg grater, c.1740's, of tapered cylindrical form, with pull off cover, engraved with griffin crest with initials G W to either side, total weight 54gm, height 5 cm note: no hallmarks present probably because between 1739-1790 it was not a requirement by English law to add marks to small items of silver, reason being it could damage or deface the item.
