A Carrara plaster bronzed panel from the pedestal base of the Maori Statuary Group by J. McDonald (Wellington), from the New Zealand International Exhibition of Arts and Industries, Christchurch 1906-1907, illustrated in Cowan's Official Records pg.107. The panel depicts 'Hika Ahi' friction fire making. Panel - 64 x 53 cm, including frame - 80 x 70 cm.
